Plaster Ceiling
Plaster is a building material used for the protective or decorative coating of walls and ceilings. It can also be used for moulding decorative elements onto the surfaces. The different types of plaster usually contain either gypsum, lime, or cement, but all work in a similar way. The plaster is manufactured as a dry powder and when it is mixed with water it forms a thick paste which is then applied to the surface which later slowly hardens. Some manufacturers also make the plaster materials beforehand and use them later.
Plaster ceilings are installed for various reasons. They make homes look more polished and elegant, and they can contain intricate carvings too. People usually have plaster ceilings done to give the ceiling a better look however they are also done for lights to be fitted into the ceiling and also conceal piping that runs through the house.
Today, most houses have some sort of plaster ceiling installed and it is recommended for people who would like to give their home a more elegant look or have things like multiple wires for their air-conditioner or random piping that needs to be hidden.
